When the risen Christ ascended into heaven, he "handed the baton" to his disciples.
Having taught them everything they needed to know,
he sent them to make disciples, spreading God's word, to all.
We are those disciples, continuing God's work in the world, which requires us to share ourselves and our resources in order to accomplish the work we are given.
Christian stewardship is our thoughtful, prayerful, joyful, and responsible use of the resources God has given us to serve God’s purposes in our world and in our lives.
Christians commit themselves to building up the body of Christ, serving all God's people by reaching out to help and to serve any who have need through the use of our many
gifts, skills, talents and financial resources.
We give of ourselves as Jesus gave himself for us - sacrifically, that all might have abundant life.
Christ invites you to prayerfully consider
the gifts God has given you, and the ways you might be able to return God's love by giving a portion of your gifts
that all God's people might live abundantly.
What are you able to give of your time, talents, skills and money?
How can you serve in and through the church,
in and for the community,
and for the on-going work of God?
Together, we are Christ's body in our world today,
even during and especially in difficult times!
