Presbyterian churches are led by an elected board, called the Session, which is made up of Ruling Elders (from the congregation) and Teaching Elders (normally the pastor of the church).  The session governs the church and determines how the church carries out its worship, work and ministry.

Many Presbyterian churches also have a Board of Deacons, those who are specifically gifted for caring ministries.  Covenant Presbyterian does not have a Board of Deacons, but rather, the Elders (and others in the congregation) provide that ministry as well.
